What's in a Title?
EMT Courses On-line is the training branch of NWEMS Ltd offering cost effective, comprehensive skills to the Independent Emergency Medical Services sector.
" Emergency Medical Technician EMT (Noun)
A person who is specially trained and certified to administer basic emergency services to victims of trauma or acute illness before and during transportation to a hospital or other healthcare facility."
The Title EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) a non protected title in the UK at the moment and can be interpreted in many different ways. This results in an inconsistency of the care provided by those claiming to hold the Title due to the variety of non IHCD training courses available.
This said it does not mean that because a person has not completed full ambulance technician training certified by the IHCD that they have no right to be called an EMT however when choosing to train and work as one you should look for courses that provide skills and development suitable for the area of care you wish to work.
EMT courses on-line aim to provide a comprehensive, fully supported, self-learning and classroom taught, training, development and assessment environment for those who are either working or aspire to work within the Independent Medical Sector. The courses on offer can be followed with little or no experience developing candidates to fully competent EMT status. This can also be completed as a bridging support and re-affirmation of other clinical qualifications to provide proof of clinical skills and competences. EMT Online believe that the Title of EMT means more than just providing basic pre-hospital care, Technicians can do so much more. however to do this providing proof of skill has to be the only way to measure your own performance and provide safe effective care within a scope of practice.
Putting aside the 3 basic Courses on offer for a minute EMTI, EMTCP and Ambulance aid courses, all included with a team membership. We are also building a catalogue of up to date CPD short courses in a range of cutting edge topics allowing users to log in and complete at their own pace printing off certificates for our also provided CPD folder when finished.
As a team member you will also have access to the training centre 4 days every week if needed as we are backing all of these courses up with fully integrated skills and assessment days to ground knowledge. These training days are available as many times as you wish to attend within a year and is included in the team membership pass nothing further for you to pay, at all!.
We are currently undergoing attaining accreditation for our main courses through the (faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, RCS) and all members will be grandfathered into this when accreditation is complete. CPD, CPD, CPD!
